Most times I journal in my Bible for myself, and then there are times I believe God asks me to journal something for someone else. Probably because He knows that I will share it online and let Him take it from there.
This is one of those times. I drew this image back in 2016 and have always wanted to put it in my Bible but just never did. I think the reason why I didn’t was because of timing.
Today, I felt very strongly about journaling it.
Maybe it’s for you.
Maybe it’s for someone you know.
In 2016, it was for me. I was going through some dark times and was having a difficult time seeing any light.
I had suffered my second miscarriage and I was feeling like it was my fault. I had anxiety surrounding the pregnancy and I felt like I worried it to death.
The voices in my head were loud and they were killing my spirit daily.
I believed I was worthless, alone, ugly, never going to amount to anything. I wanted to just sink into it all and let it take me over.
But I chose to cling to Jesus. It wasn’t easy and the battle in my head was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to fight.
Finding hope in a savior
I’m here to tell you that there is hope.
And that hope is found in Jesus.
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
John 8:12
And that’s exactly what He will do when we choose to follow Him and give everything we are holding onto to Him. He will bring LIGHT.
We do not have to walk in darkness.
Let Him tell you these truths:
“You are valuable.” (1 Peter 1:18-19)
“You are loved.” (Romans 5:8)
“You are beautiful.” (1 Peter 3:3-4) (Song of Solomon 4:7)
“You are a warrior.” (Joshua 1:9)
“You are strong.” (Isaiah 40:31)
“You are forgiven.” (John 3:16)
“You are free.” (John 8:36)
“You’re my daughter.” (1 John 3:1)
When we look toward light, our shadows fall behind us. In the same way, look toward Jesus, and let the voices in your head fall behind you as you replace them with the truth found in the Word of God.
